@smilelikemiles As a test, please move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. Don't add anything to it yet; just see whether you have the same loading and lag issues as before. If the game takes more than a few minutes to load, you can just kill it in the Task Manager.
The next step would be playing while your computer is offline. You can put Origin into offline mode before disconnecting from the internet. This isn't a solution, just a test; let me know whether it helps.
If it doesn't, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Hi so I tried the first thing, load times weren’t much better at all. Maybe a little fast but was still freezing in the middle of the load screen at times. The music would stop and the whole thing would freeze. Game is also freezing severely and lagging. From Home Screen I pretended to go make a new game and it just froze every second.
I attempted in offline mode and it launched faster but still lags quite a bit. how can I use the gallery if I have to play in offline mode? :/ I will eventually send over the dxdiag
