Language change not working

I changed my game language to English from advanced launch options, but the game still keeps launching in Finnish. I tried repairing the game and changing my system language to English, and still no change. Do I need to uninstall and reinstall the whole thing? I'd rather not try that just to be sure unless absolutely necessary, as I have all expansion packs etc and it just takes forever...

    Hey @nynny44,

Thanks for your visit to the forums!

What unfortunate to hear that you're having issues with The Sims 4 not launching in the language that you would like it to launch.

When you select the language that you want for the game via Game Properties > Advances Launch Options > Select the language > Press Save, does it also start to verify the game files? (You can see that in the bottom left corner of Origin)

@EA_Leeuw Clearing the cache was unfortunately no help either. I've now accepted the fact that I need to reinstall the game, but now I've encountered a whole new issue: I can't uninstall! Clicking uninstall from Origin does absolutely nothing. Trying to uninstall through control panel prompts a confirmation window, and then a window asking permission for EA Installer Cleanup, and accepting is followed with exactly nothing. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Origin client, and still nothing... I'm at my wits' end with this!

@nynny44  Try using Revo Uninstaller to remove Sims 4, and Origin while you're at it.  Start by uninstalling Sims 4:

    • Put aside your Sims 4 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts and rename it to something that doesn't include the words "Sims 4."
    • Download Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine) from here.
    • Launch Revo, select Sims 4 from the list, and click Uninstall.
    • Once the game is uninstalled, select "Moderate" under "scanning modes," and click Scan.
    • Review the list, in case there's something you want to save; otherwise, click Select All, and then Delete.
    • Close Revo, and restart your computer.

    Next, uninstall Origin:

    • First, clear Origin's cache.
    • Quit Origin, then right-click on the Task Bar and open the Task Manager.  Scroll through looking for Origin entries.  If you find any, click on them and End Task.
    • Launch Revo again and uninstall Origin, and when it's uninstalled, select "Moderate" again and Scan.
    • If Revo finds any remaining registry entries, select all, delete, and click Next.
    • Revo will display "Remaining Data and Folders.  Select all of them except for the "Origin Games" folder, if you have other games installed through Origin.  Delete the rest.
    • Close Revo, and restart your computer.

Next, download the full Origin installer and run it.  Here's the direct download link:

    http://download.dm.origin.com/origin/live/OriginSetup.exe

Be sure to run both the installer and Origin itself as an admin: right-click on each and select "Run as Administrator."  When it's reinstalled, download Sims 4; you can just download the base game, to save time, if you want.

Restart after installing and before playing, and allow the game to create a new user folder rather than putting back your existing one, at least for now.
