Laptop for sims 4 ?
Would this be a good laptop for just the sims? More concerned about the storage, my friend says 16RAM with 512gbs isn’t enough but im also seeing people say otherwise so idk

@hotspoodles 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage are more than enough for Sims 4. If the game is using more than about 10 GB memory on its own, the save is probably well on its way to being unplayable. And while you might be able to amass a ~300 GB collection of mods and custom content, that wouldn't use up all your storage but would certainly make loading times almost unbearable. So unless you have a lot of non-Sims-related data to store, you should be fine on that front.
I would however suggest that you try to find a laptop with an RTX 3050 rather than a 2050. The 3050 is significantly faster, and in fact even the older GTX 1650 is faster at a 1920x1080 resolution in most games. Laptops with a 3050 are also typically the same price or only slightly more expensive. If you'd like help finding something else, please list your budget and country as well as any other details that matter to you.
Still, if you like this laptop, for whatever reasons matter to you, it should be good enough for Sims 4 on high-ultra to ultra settings, depending on how many expansions and how much third-party content you install.
Thank you for this!! So unfortunately, I’m very limited in my choice of laptop as they come from a website my university provides, as I get spending money from there. And the laptop I listed above is unavailable!! These are the next best ish options, but im still unsure if they’re any good for sims. Would the HP be any good or the Lenovo?
hotspoodles The graphics chip in the first option is significantly faster than the other, and since the graphics chip would be the limiting factor for Sims 4, that's the better option. But neither would be as fast as something with even an RTX 1650 or 2050, if those are still available.
I don't know whether I'd have access to the website you're using, but if you can use it without a login, feel free to link it and I'll take a look. Just let me know what price to target.
Unfortunately a log in is needed for this website, but your replies are greatly appreciated!! I also cannot seem to find anything on that site with the option of RTX D:: however im not necessarily looking for perfect gameplay, just something that can somewhat smoothly run the sims :)) will the first option manage that?
hotspoodles Yes, the first laptop should be able to handle all current packs together on medium-high to high graphics settings, depending on your play style and how much outside content you install. If the game is running poorly, it won't be the laptop's fault.
