Laptop for sims 4

In the pictures bellow are the specs of 3 laptops and I was wondering of anyone knew if they would work for sims 4 + cats and dogs.
And if they will run it which would be best?
  • These are all below minimum specs. The AMD A processors aren't meant for gaming. They are more of an office/school type processor. All the laptops posted above have only 4GB system memory. Not so good for gaming.

None list what graphics they have. So that means they're using integrated graphics.

When using integrated graphics, it uses the same computer memory as Windows, Origin, the game and other programs you have on your computer. This could be causing the game not to work.

It may work great one day and not work the next. This happens a lot with lower end computers. Issues can happen after game patches and Origin updates. As the more updates and patches they put out, the more strain it is on the computer. Making it harder for lower end systems to play the game.

When you have an under-powered computer, the game may run one day and not the next. You can not upgrade laptop hardware. You are stuck with the specs you buy.

If you are looking for a laptop you might try looking for something similar to:

    Dell i5577-5335BLK-PUS - Price: $679.00
    https://www.amazon.com/Dell-i5577-5335BLK-PUS-Inspiron-Gaming-Laptop/dp/B06XFGDD8P

    - Intel Core i5-7300HQ
    - 8GB Memory
    - 256GB SSD
    - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050

The 256GB solid state hard drive seems to be the only hard drive in the system. This is a concern if you plan on having a lot of data files ( game saves, mods, cc, photos, game videos, etc.) plus other programs that might take up a lot of hard drive space.

Though you might be able to upgrade to a 500 GB solid state hard drive later though if you start running out of room, or putting less used data on an external hard drive.

@Lizurdz  The sims 4 is a 3D game and as such requires certain specs to play satisfactory. A laptop under $400 will be a real challenge. As I would recommend a dedicated video chip this raises the cost. I would recommend at least a screen resolution of 1920X1080 (1080p). A laptop that is at or below minimum specs will probably may play the game but may not provide acceptable performance. There are many laptops that are student/social laptops and these seldom provide a good gaming experience. There are many laptops that are 1366x768 and while this will scale that laptop will not exceed this without extra hardware being engineered into the motherboard. There is no upgrade path for most laptops so make sure you buy a laptop that will run the software you are going to use.

@roberta591 Thank you for the reply!

I'm currently using an HP Pavilion 15 Notebook that uses a AMD A4-5000 processor (that's the only info I can find). Sims 4 has been working fairly well with it, but the laptop itself is NOT doing well - its on its last days. I'm just looking to find something of equal or higher value and I'm willing to buy refurbished. ...Any suggestions?

(Sorry for all the questions, I'm ABSOLUTELY NOT a tech person)

@Lizurdz  The AMD A4-5000 is so under powered for gaming I would never recommend it. Sims 4 could (probably) go the same way as Sims 3 - some expansion packs require more power then minimum requirement. Cats & Dogs require a 64 bit operating system and now Seasons is the same. I use AMD processors but I use the FX series. I do not recommend HP laptops for gaming for various reasons. I have Dell laptops but I only use them for business. Here's where you need to be - Dell gaming laptop or something better. This will allow you to play today's games and retain value if you decide to sell it. I have used Dell support and in my opinion is they are better then most. The Dell laptop has new technology dedicated video chip which should provide good performance for Sims 4 and other 3D games.
