Sims 4 making laptop go to sleep

This is like. SO frustrating. No mods.

I ran the DX diag as recommended and it said no problems but I am still attaching it here.

I can't even play for 5 minutes. It goes into sleep mode at random (and OFTEN) and it's making me so mad I could actually cry.

So far I have: completely shut off sleep mode (so my laptop will not sleep for inactivity) and also set battery to maximum performance. This happens whether plugged in or not, it does not do this for other games (games I play include star stable, fortnite and MHA Ultra rumble) and is a relatively new (6 months old) HP Victus gaming laptop. Please help me figure this out, I am not very technically skilled and I'm really frustrated by this.

Alright I have gone through my event log and it is saying it's a thermal event but. that makes NO sense because the computer wasn't hot at all, it did it right after I opened the game, it doesnt do it when the computer DOES get hot, and I am still. baffled.

Updating in case someone else has this issue later. What I ended up doing was turning down my graphics on the game. This fixed the issue.

  • DecayingShiggy  That is strange, and you shouldn't need to turn down the graphics at all.  But the thermal event is concerning.  Do you have any more information on which component is triggering the error?  Have you ever run a stress test on the laptop to see how it handles a maximum CPU or GPU load?  If not, and you're interested but don't know where to start, just ask.

And to be clear, the laptop is going into sleep mode but not shutting down?  As in, you can wake it back up again and you're back into the same session, with Sims 4 and everything else still open?
