Laptop recommendations

Hey, I’m UK based and looking for a laptop. This is purely for SIMS4, mods and EPs. I have no other games or useage for the laptop.

ideally I want to spend less than £300-£400. However I’m confused about what requirements the game needs.

UK based.

my options so far have been;

https://www.currys.co.uk/products/acer-aspire-go-15-15.6-laptop-intel-core-i3-128-gb-ssd-silver-10266516.html

thank you for any help :-)

    also this is the link from EA Help

  • Daniellejg12  I would absolutely not buy the second one for Sims 4, and you can do better than the first one as well.  Would you like additional recommendations in your price range?  I'd be happy to look for you and list some suitable options.

  • Daniellejg12  If you want to stay under £400, any of these would be about equal to the others.  These should run Sims 4, all packs included, on medium-high to high graphics settings, and you'll have enough room for a substantial custom content collection:

    You don't need to spend more money, strictly speaking.  But if you want to bump up the performance a bit and also get 16 GB RAM (not required but nice to have), this one is not too much more expensive:

    https://www.currys.co.uk/products/acer-aspire-3-15.6-laptop-amd-ryzen-7-512-gb-ssd-silver-10258102.html

    Beyond that, you'd typically need to spend more like £600-650 to get better performance in gaming.

    For comparison's sake, the graphics chips in the first three laptops I linked are about 30-35% faster in gaming than the chip in the first laptop you linked in your original post.  That's not a lot for the extra £100, so if you'd rather keep the price down, the first option is a reasonable purchase.  But if you're looking for the best you can get for under £400, one of the ones above is clearly the better choice.

    The graphics chip in the last one I linked is about 15-20% faster in gaming than the chips in the first three, so again, not a huge improvement for the extra cost, but you do get the extra RAM too.
