Lights turn off and TV won't work

Hello,

I'm hoping somebody can help me!!

I've been playing with a sim family for a while now and played with for several days over a few weeks. They got married and I moved them into a house I downloaded. She was pregnant and took 'paternity leave' and all of the lights turned out in the game and the TV is no longer watchable, it only gives the option to upgrade but you need level 9 handiness. I've tried so many different things!! I moved them out of the house and back in, I've got rid of the house completely and built a new one (which took me around eight hours and I finally thought I'd fixed the issue but she is now pregnant again and it is still happening, whether I take paternity leave or not). I even started a brand new game and used a different sim family and just cheated so that they were at the same level in their jobs and relationships etc. Yet the lights are still turning off and the TV is not watchable..

Has anybody else had these issues? It only seems to be when my sim is pregnant. But it is driving me CRAZY.

Please help ☹️

This phenomenon only occurs when your family has not paid the bills on time. If your sims every time pay bills and suddenly the electricity is cut off then this is a game error.
If you have any mods move the mods folder to the desktop.
Delete localthumbcache.package file in the game folder. Delete also all folders with the word "cache" in the name.
    Fix the game in Origin.
    Origin/Library -right-click on TS4 - option "Repair game"
You have to wait until Origin will fix all packs, not only the base game.
Turn on the game to create a new, empty mods folder. Check if a game is working now properly
If it is fixed, copy from desktop your mods and CC and paste it in the new mods folder. First, paste script mods every time checking if the game is working properly. Do the same with CC but if you have a lot of this, try the 50/50 method ( divide your CC into smaller batches for example 50 pieces in one subfolder and check these subfolders one by one)

    - If you don't have CC or mods delete this file and fix the game also.

It may be necessary to do a factory reset of the game folder but for now, let's see if a simple repair of the game will help

    Hi,

Thank you SO, SO MUCH! I've been playing Sims 4 since it came out and I've never had this issue before (guess I must have always paid my bills!) I don't remember getting any prompts to pay them which is why I've missed this, and I have just clicked on my mailbox and low and behold, I had bills to pay!

Thank you so much for pointing out blatantly obvious - I feel like such an idiot but I'm so GLAD that was what it was!

    Again, thank you 🙂
