Lot Disappearing when using "Modify in CAS" cheat

Okay, I didn't see another post for this when I searched, but this has happened twice now and it is super frustrating!! 

So when I use the shift plus right click to select "Modify in CAS", when I come back, my lot is GONE. The first time this happened to me, obviously I just rage quit for awhile. But this time, I made sure to SAVE before choosing that option and it is still gone! Even when I recover the save from before trying to use that cheat. 

Any help? I guess I could just NOT use that option, but sometimes I forget and it's just so SO SO .... SO frustrating to not be able to recover it.

Most annoying part is that you can still see the house from the map! But when you open the lot, it's not there :********(

I play on PC and have NO mods or CC.

    Beepants​  If you recover the next-newest save from before you used the cheat, is the lot still gone?   And to be sure, you quit the game after the lot disappeared and before loading a backup, right?  If not, please try that now, with a backup you hadn't previously loaded.  The corrupt data from the main save might not be released if you only exit to the Main Menu.

    Please also test this in a new save, with fresh sims and a default EA-made lot, nothing from the Gallery or your own library.  If that's fine, test a different lot in your existing save.  You can make a copy of the save or backup you're using before doing this so you don't damage a file you might want to use later.
