machine requirement good. but screen switches off when game load

i have installed the sims 4 digital delux. tested my machine requirements are good but when i go to play the game the screen switches off saying input unsupported.

what can i do

    Here are some ideas.  They are just different means to the same end:

    Launch it in Windowed mode using -w , once it's open changed the resolution to your current monitor.

    Go to Documents/EA/Sims4 and edit the file called config.cfg with notepad.  *edit*(it might be called options.ini instead of config)

    Change these two lines to reflect your current resolution

    ResolutionWidth xxxx
    ResolutionHeight xxxx

    ----

    Rename the folder Documents/EA/Sims4 to something else.  Do a repair from Origin.  Copy back anything in there you might need (mods, saves, whatever else).

    desktop . no its not getting hot.

    amd athlon II x4 640 3 GHZ

    Window 7 ultimate

    4 GB RAM

    ATI radeon HD5400 series

    yes i did have a dual screen setup. but then i took one of  the screens out
