karoschmitz You can test it on any save you like. The special procedures in place are meant to protect people from damaging their saves; it doesn't mean you can't use the feature on an existing save. And if you have a heavy save that runs badly, or at least not well, I think that would be a good test. I know you pay enough attention in general to have a good sense of how the game runs under different conditions, so any feedback about the practical effects would be great to have when the time comes.
lolaline As of now, Sims 4 only has DirectX 9 and 11 modes. DirectX 12 is backwards-compatible in general, and DX9 can be installed on a modern system, so it's not that computers would be incompatible with the game or with the Memory Boost feature. It sounds like Memory Boost is only applicable to the DX11 version, but anyone who isn't still running Windows 7 or using a machine from that era should, in theory anyway, be able to play in DX11 mode already.
