Memory usage spikes and the game becomes sluggish after May 26, 2026

Since the Gallery search update, memory usage has skyrocketed, making the game so sluggish that I can’t play The Sims 4.

Even after going offline or disabling mods, memory usage still spikes above 4GB during downloads and gameplay, causing my PC to become unstable. Since there’s no way to bypass the Gallery, I can’t play the game in this state. This is a gaming PC, but the load is simply too heavy. I can’t even search the Gallery—it just gets stuck in an infinite loading loop. I don’t need a search feature that just slows things down and makes the data bloated, so please revert it to the way it was before.

    hinahina21​  I'm not sure what you mean here.  Taking your computer offline would cut off your access to the Gallery, so if you're still seeing RAM spikes, they're not coming from the Gallery.  Are you in fact taking the computer offline when you play?  Or are you saying that going offline afterwards doesn't help?

    Please also let me know what antivirus you use.  Sometimes memory spikes are because of the AV, not the game, even though the game is showing the extra resource use.
