Mods and save files dont work

Hello! I have been playing the Sims 4 for years now, but a few months ago I wasn't able to get it to launch. I identified the issue and was able to fix it. Now, unfortunately, I have a new issue. I can open the game with no problem, but all of my saves and mods are gone. It was like I was new, and there was even a tutorial offered. I have mods enabled, and everything is in the EA Sims 4 folder in documents. I've opened the game multiple times, moved the mods, saves and tray folders to desktop, created a new family, and even reinstalled the game, which took over 3 hours because of all the packs I have, but nothing worked. I have spent a while making progress and compiling the mods I like, and am confused as to why these dont work. Is there anything I can do to get at least my mods and saves to work?

  • @Vizidian  I've moved your post to the Sims 4 PC tech section.

Please move your entire Sims 4 folder, not just its component parts, out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  Enable mods and custom content at the Main Menu, then start a new save (no need to spend much time on it; this is just for testing), place the new sim in a household, save, quit, reload, and see whether the save is still available.

If it is, you can test your existing mods by moving them into the clean folder in batches.  Any batch that causes problems needs to be split and tested again until you find the problem file(s).  Once you've sorted through your mods, you can move the contents of Saves and Tray to the new folder as well, and test to make sure all of your content is still available.
