Mods Folder - HELP!!

I had accidentally saved all of my Sims 4 content/folders/etc. onto my VERY low GB C: drive. Eventually, that drive had gotten so full that my laptop no longer had enough space to update itself.

I brought this concern up to my brother-in-law and he ended up deleting a lot of my games to free up the space. All of my Sims 4 stuff was deleted and he encourage me to re-install them into my D drive, which I did. Of course I lost all of my save files and all of my in-game library :'(

Of course, I am an avid mod user, and right away I have re-downloaded my favorite mods. Except...the whole Sims 4 folder in my D drive looks completely different than it did in my C: drive. I can't find the mods folder ANYWHERE. And yes, I do have a household that I have saved in order to "open up" the mods folder.

This is what I see

There is a "mods" folder on the left, but it's located in the C drive! Is that supposed to happen??
  • Hello
The mods folder is found in Documents -Electronic Arts - sims 4 folder , then the mods folder is there. You need to play the game once to generate a sims 4 folder.
The place where you took the screenshot isn’t where the mods folder is located.

    I'll give that a try.
I'm used to having everything be in one place. My documents folder is in the C drive and my Sims game is now in the D drive!
  • It would be best to move your documents folder to the D drive also.
This explains how to move your documents folder.

I got it, thanks. Now, I'm just confused as to why they got installed in the c drive when I told the installer to put everything in the d drive

Moving them to my D drive did not work.
It seems that even when I "move" them they re-appear back in the original place (c drive).
So even though the folders DO appear in my d drive, putting mods into the mod folder does nothing.
  • If you have moved your whole Documents folder to the D drive , there shouldn’t be a folder on the C drive.

Exactly why I'm confused. I definitely moved the folder, making sure I didn't just copy it. But, there it is, back in the original spot AND the new one.
