Mods not working after the update :(

Hi guys, after the recent update the game turned my mods off, i know it happens every update so i turned them back on and closed the game, but whenever i open the game, the mods option is still unchecked :( i tried checking the option and re-opening the game multiple times, yet it still shows up as not turned on
