Check in your settings, you might have turned the Sims 3 mouse on or off.

    I can't find the settings, only 'game options'. Where exactly will I find the option to turn the sims 3 mouse on/off?

      Control + Shift + Tab or by pressing Esc -> Game Options -> Controls and Camera -> Sims 3 Camera.

        Thank you so much! I've solved the problem.

        However... now I can't use cheats? I keep entering ctrl + shift + c, yet the bar just wont pop up.

        Sorry to be a pain.
