Bug with the character needs window

I abandoned the game for a couple of months; everything was fine before that. I came back, updated the game, and while playing, I noticed a really annoying bug: when I enter and exit construction mode, the needs window closes. I have to click it twice to open it, exactly twice. The first time it just flashes and then immediately closes. I tried running it without mods, and I checked it in another app, I have to click it twice to open it, exactly twice. The first time it just flashes and then immediately closes. I tried running it without mods, and I checked it in another app?

I'm using a translator. I meant that the same thing is happening in a different save. I tried renaming the Sims 4 folder to Sims 41 and running a clean game without mods, but the problem persists.

However, if this is the only problem you're having with the game, I don't know how much time you'd want to spend fixing it.  I can still make suggestions, but I don't want to waste a lot of your time trying to fix something that might not matter very much to you overall.

Restoring the game didn't help. Could this be related to the latest update from April 16th? What solutions do you suggest? I recently reinstalled the game completely, so I don't have much to lose.

If that alone doesn't help, switch to playing in windowed mode rather than in fullscreen, or the opposite if you're already in windowed mode.  Quit the game and reload it after switching and before testing.
