My computer is shutting off when I load the Sims 4.

When I open the Sims 4 it loads just fine, but after a few minutes of playing my computer shuts down. It doesn't restart it just turns off. I checked the battery and it was fine and my laptop isn't overheating. I can do other things on my laptop just fine, its only the Sims 4 that's giving me problems. I just tried to open it again because its been a week since the last time I tried it and it still turned off my laptop. This time however, my laptop will only stay on long enough for me to log in and then it shuts off again.

Your laptop will only stay on long enough for you to login to what? Windows? Origin? Your Sims neighborhood?

It isn't possible for The Sims to shutdown windows or deactivate your hardware therefore it's either overheating or your power supply is failing. Try installing SpeedFan and monitoring your hardware temperatures while The Sims is running in windowed mode so you can see the SpeedFan display. Anything over 190 degrees Fahrenheit is critical and if the temperatures are safe then the problem is likely your battery and/or power supply.

  • What's the hardware on your laptop? If it's an integrated graphics/video card that is not AMD radeon, then you will have issues. Also, what kind of laptop are you using? Certain laptops are not really designed for gaming.

I have the same problem but it lets me play for a short time. Then freezes the enitre computer. So that I can see the screen saver to my computer but also the rim of the sims game.
