my folder looks diffrent then normal and the mods folder is missing

Hi, so i'm not really sure what i'm doing but i'm having this problem. I stopped playing for a couple months and wanted to play again recently so i went to update it and stuff, my laptop is trash so i got a harddrive for the sims. before it was normal and it showed it how it normally did in normal folders (like Electronic Arts<The Sims 4<Mods) to get to the mods but now it doesn't? it automaticly starts it at 'The Sims 4' but it doesnt show the mods folder? just a bunch of numbers and short words, but when i started the game it was normal but it had all the old mods i had installed months ago and when i added new mods in (for some reason when it updated it didn't update over my old thing?? not sure) but when i added it in it didn't show up in game but the old cc did? 

I'm not sure what i should do? I tried downloading it on my laptop and then going to move it onto the harddrive instead of just making the place where it starts downloading, but while i was doing that i noticed that it also just said 'The Sims 4' instead of Electronic Arts<The Sims 4 (also it just wouldn't let me install it on my computer cuz of room)

I've also uninstalled and reinstalled it once already (doing it again right now) so i'm just really clueless...if it's a new update or something could someone explain how i can use mods again? I'll try attach a photo after this all finishes downloading so it's easier to explain.
