My game crashes when I move my camera quickly

My game keeps crashing whenever I move my camera quickly. 

Ive literally tried everything, i have no script modes in, i’ve repaired the game so many times, cleared my cashe, updated my drivers, completely uninstalled and reinstalled the whole game, factory reset my laptop and redownloaded the game. 

I thought it was a save issue, but it across the different saves i’ve tried. It was working for a while with no script mods, but then I finally got to live mode and it crashed again. 

This only started happening after the life and death update and the patch after that update. I’m really not sure what to do anymore i feel like i’ve tried everything. and it’s making the game impossible to play

    Hey, It happens without my mods in also. I used Tray Importer to delete corrupt files from the lot it was crashing on. Then took the whole mods folder out and went to a different save (not a new one) and it crashed in the same way. 

    It always seems to happen when I move my camera down when I am in the kitchen. Like specifically in the kitchen.

    Also! I just tested it in a completely new save, with no mods, and it still crashed. It'll freeze and then can't unfreeze, and just crash.

    @pinkyjane13 I think this happened to me several times on console (PS4, so no mods, CC, I also refrain from cheats). Sounds familiar, move the camera quickly from kitchen area downwards toward bottom of screen, then the game shuts down. This problem did not exist on this (PS4) console before September 18th update. It happened one time after that update. All the other crashes were in October and November 2024. Patch 1.99, 2.00 made things worse. Happened twice. 2.01 slight improvement did not happen. Happened at least two other times since the patch 2.02, which made game unplayable. The latest patch allowed a little gameplay but ultimately has been the worst one so far. Sims 4 even shut down and logged out of PS4 network on its own. I am working on restoring game and hoping I can submit a save at some point. Have difficulty sending larger files though.

    Yes exactly! its so weird its always in the lichen and that one camera motion. I’m sorry this is happening to you too. I really am not sure what to do anymore but wait for another patch or something

    @pinkyjane13  Please force Sims 4 to run in DirectX 11 mode.  Open your EA App game library, select Sims 4 > Manage > View properties, and enter -dx11 in the command line box.

    @Xemisa2World  Please create your own thread in the Sims 4 console tech forum for help, if you haven't already.  I don't know anything about troubleshooting on console.
