@ScottishLaird Please force the game to run in DirectX 11 mode. Open your EA App game library, click Sims 4 > Manage > View properties, and enter -dx11 in the command line box.
@Vanilla5pice Please test with no mods or custom content, and if that doesn't help, provide a dxdiag. Both are described in post 2.
So I have the same issue, I did the -dx11. Now it crashes at the start not even allowing to play for ten minutes. I have cleared cache it loads then crashes again after ten minutes.

@Desorah Please test with no most or custom content, if you haven't already. Move the Mods folder to the desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. You don't need to save your progress.
If that doesn't or didn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to your reply.
