My game won't open after The Sims 4 was released for Epic Games

Having the same issue. My daughter was using my EA account on her computer to play The Sims. Now it tries to launch the Epic version where my own account is already linked.

If you have it installed in both Epic and the EA App that will happen. Only install the game on one of these launchers.

I'm having the same problem. I claimed the game on Epic for free just because, no particular reason. I did NOT install it from Epic since I already had it installed from EA. Next day I proceed to open Sims 4 from EA like usual and it automatically opens up Epic too and starts the game from there on his own. I get it probably happened because my EA and Epic accounts are linked (I need that for some other EA games that I bought on Epic) but I didn't do anything at all to prompt this switch and it's just annoying that I now have Epic running uselessly.

You can try contacting Epic and ask them to remove it.

@elvisplaylive   Hi!  I don't use Epic so I did a bit of research.  Perhaps you could try disabling Epic Game Launcher from your the Startup menu using Task Manager.  Either right click on the Taskbar and click Task Manager or press ctrl+alt+del and click Task Manager in the menu that opens.  Then click the Startup tab, click on the EpicGamesLauncher app in the list and then click disable.  You may need to restart your computer for this to take effect.

You might also look for game launch options in Epic settings  I was not able to find instructions for this.  I hope this helps!

Edit: If you ever want to re-enable the launcher for Startup, just follow the same steps.  When you click the launcher in the list you should get an Enable button.

Same! And I'm so confused cause I didn't even claim it on epic games. So annoyed

doesn't work. ea launcher specifically opens epic games launcher when you open Sims 4 and won't start the game unless epic games launcher is open. I haven't even installed the game on EGS just claimed it...

I was able to fix this by uninstalling and re-installing the game with the EA app. I think it's worth mentioning that I really did have to download the entire thing from scratch. Trying to "trick" the app by putting the old files back into place didn't work, like it sometimes does with errors like this. You have to sit through the entire, 20 GB+ download all over again.

Scratch my previous post, the problem is back a few days later, maybe tied to an Epic update. I'm trying to ask them to remove the game from my Epic account.
