@killsuwu Again, what antivirus program do you use? Please also run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Leave the Sims 4 icon in the Taskbar alone. According to the Taskbar, the game isn't running, so you won't have any useful options there.
I'm having the same issue, and i noticed it started after my antivirus expired

@vampof9tt Try uninstalling your expired antivirus. Some programs recommend special procedures to remove them; you should be able to find out on the support site for your particular antivirus.

Thanks for replying, I did uninstall my expired Norton, and still having issues. However windows defender took the place of my anti-virus on its own.

@vampof9tt Try moving your entire Sims 4 user folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. Don't add anything to it yet; just see whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.
If you can't, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

if you have over 200 mods running you need to take them out of the mod folder and then you need to slowly put them back in depends how much your pc can take at once

So if I have over 1,700 mods? I'm not going to waste my life doing this 🙂
Also isn't that what curseforge is for? Faster and effective ways to download and install/update mods regardless of size and bandwidth/latency over network?
I'm giving curseforge a good chance cuz they listen to their consumers, even me, and I'm a nobody.
