I'm having the same problems on my PC, sims are not doing anything but standing around. I even tried to take a selfie of my sim and the camera is pointing at her crotch. I've reported this bug multiple times to EA and Origin and got nothing. I just did an update a minute ago and it's still not working.
This is so highly irritating.
Are you using mods in your game ? If so, please remove them
