I have this problem aswell. When i create a new household and go into gameplay, if i try and save it or after about 15 to 20 minutes without saving, it will freeze and crash. I have had the game since October time and it has been fine. I got the holiday update and it was fine but chrashed now and again. But now i cant even go on it and save my game or play properly without it crashing. This is really annoying me because my computure is relatively new and some people are saying its something to do with the computure. I hope i havn't wasted my money. Can any one help please????
i'm having the exact same problem. My Sims 4 has always run fine on my computer. It wasn't until about a week ago when I updated it that it started freezing mid game and then crashing, causing me to lose all my gameplay. If i didn't save it at least once a sim day I was at risk of losing everything I'd done. I can't tell you how many hours of gameplay I've lost over the last week. I've removed all of my custom content from my game with no change and i reset all the sims 4 files in documents>electronic arts and it didn't do anything either. (i renamed the folder Sims 4 to Sims 4 Backup so when I reopened the game it created a new folder with all new files. All my setting were reset and I had no save data..but i obviously had my backup). My computer is new too, and i can run other games like Sim City on it with no problem, but Sims 4 won't work. I hope someone can help..I just want to play sims!

I'm getting really frustrated aswel.😠 trying to play Sims4 is no fun anymore because it just freezes and crashes. i thought my computer box was over_heating and causing it to freeze but now i don't know anymore because i'm keeping it cool. everytime i log in to play i only manage to play for about 10min max then everything freezes and have to switch it off.

I know what you mean I'm having the same problem. I reported this problem and have not had a response yet!

@niicthatcherHow did the computer run the game after you renamed the folder? What did you update? If your computer is a pc a dxdiag would be real helpful.
