removed my mods, saved slots and trays

Checked if I have enough storage on my laptop

installed sims 4 legacy

Removed localthumbcache.package

Checked my textured memory if it matches

Uninstalled sims 4

type of laptop I have:

Acer aspire 3 windows 10

@EleonoraDawodu  Honestly, your hardware is a bit weak for Sims 4.  Depending on which packs you have installed, some lag might be inevitable.  But that doesn't mean there's nothing you can do, or that there aren't other, more fixable, problems might be contributing to the lag.

For example, your dxdiag crashed while running and is missing some critical information.  Please start by running a couple of basic checks on your Windows system files.  Here's how:

    • Hit Windows key-X
    • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
    • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes into the window, and enter
    • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
    • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
    • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator)”
    • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes into the window, and enter
    • Post the message you receive here

Restart your computer, then manually run any pending Windows updates.  Hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the button to check for updates.  If there are a number of them pending, it might take a few tries, with restarts in between, to get them all to run.

If this doesn't help, please move your entire Sims 4 user data folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  Don't add anything to it, just start a new save and see how the game runs.  Let me know whether the lag is still present.

@puzzlezaddict  Thank you, I have just updated my laptop which was needed and now I'll be going on Sims 4 to check if it's still lagging or not.

Down below i have attached  a screenshot of what I've received from PowerShell admin.

  • @Krxs20  Your hardware is underpowered for Sims 4.  Your graphics chip in particular is below the minimum requirements, although you can obviously still play; the processor and memory are fine but don't give you a huge margin.  So your game might be lagging just because your laptop can't quite keep up with the demands placed on it.

The best thing you can do to help is not run any other apps, aside from Origin, while you play.  Restart your computer before launching the game, just to free up as much memory as possible.  And make sure your laptop can cool itself properly.  Overheating hardware will throttle to protect itself and slow down the game on even high-end hardware.
