@maybemayday The key point here is that there are two Sims 4 folders. One contains the game's program files: the game files themselves, as in, the data that the EA App installs and that is the same for everyone. You can choose to install this data wherever you want, and it looks from your screenshot like that's what you've done.
The second Sims 4 folder contains user data—saves, saved households and builds, mods and custom content, etc.—and is always in Documents > Electronic Arts. But the key here is that it's in the Documents directory for this Windows user. The location of this folder is set by the operating system itself; you cannot simply create a new Documents folder and expect Sims 4, or any other application for that matter, to use it.
You can open this Documents directory by opening a File Explorer window and clicking Documents in the left panel, under Quick Access. This folder has its own special icon rather than looking like a regular folder. Once you open this folder, you'll see an Electronic Arts folder inside, and a "The Sims 4" folder inside that, with all your user data inside.
You can in fact move this folder elsewhere, and it's not overly difficult. However, I'm not sure you're going to want to do this if you really don't know anything about computers. In order for it to work, or at least in order to be able to troubleshoot any issue that arises, you'll need to understand how file paths work and how to move stuff around without losing it. Plus, the user folder doesn't necessarily take up a lot of space. Still, if you'd like help moving this folder, just ask.
Thank you so much for explaining that out more thoroughly, I couldn’t understand it as well on the other forums!!! Unfortunately it’s confirmed one of my problems. There’s not a Sims 4 file in my documents ☹️ is it possible it’s somewhere else?

@maybemayday Have you launched the game at least once already? If not, that would explain why the folder isn't present.
If you have launched the game, you can find the full file path to your user folder through this in-game option:
https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/
One thing that trips people up is when they have two versions of Documents:
C:\Users\[username]\Documents
C:\Users\[username]\OneDrive\Documents
They may be looking in one location while the Sims 4 folder is in the other. To be sure of which one you're viewing, you can open a File Explorer window, click This PC in the left panel, double-click the C drive, open Users > your username, and proceed from there.

Hey @maybemayday! I had the same issue and this is what I did to find The Sims 4 documents folder...
I hope this helps!
**Please keep in mind I am using Windows**
First of all, there are two Sims 4 Folders:
***If you are trying to add mods/CC, music, or save files to your game SKIP to FOLDER B***
FOLDER A: Includes downloaded Sims 4 game/packs. This is the same location as the screenshot you shared earlier in the forum. I added a screenshot of what mine looks like.
You'll notice in this folder there are several folders such as "EP01". These represent your DLC, for example, EP=Expansion Pack, GP=Game Pack, SP= Stuff Pack, etc. The actual Sims 4 game can be found in Game>Bin (this location is useful if you want to add Shaders to your game)
Pro-tip! If you want to locate FOLDER A go into your EA app>Library>Locate The Sims 4, you will see three dots at the top right of the game, click that> select View Properties> under Installed Location you will find FOLDER A's location.
FOLDER B: If you are looking to add or change content in your game this is the folder you want to find (see screenshot for Folder B). This folder can be tricky to find but this is my advice based on my previous struggles...
step 1: Select your PC, this can be named (C: ) or (D: ) or even another letter followed by ":"
step 2: Select **Users** (if you don't see "Users" look through your PC folders until you see it. It may be under "Program File")
step 3:You may see options such as "Alexa" or "Public". I selected **Alexa** and that worked for me (you may see your name there, select that. If not, it may be the default "Alexa" like mine). If you don't see any of these types of options skip to the next step.
step 4: Now if you have a pain-in-the-butt PC like mine you may not see the **Documents** option (if you do see it select it). In my case, you may see a **OneDrive** option, select this (Pro-tip: the OneDrive icon looks like a blue cloud. When you select this it may ask you to put in your Outlook email. If you get a bunch of pop-ups you can exit out of them and you should still be able to access the OneDrive folder)
step 5: Select **Documents** (if you haven't already done so)
step 6: Select **Electronic Arts**
Step 7: Select **The Sims 4** and you're done!!
Here is what the folder chain should look like for a normal PC:
C:/Users/[USERS NAME]/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4
Here is what a folder chain should look like for a stupid PC like mine:
C:/Users/Alexa/OneDrive/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4
Pro-Tip! If you can't find certain folders just look through the ones you DO HAVE until you find the folder you are looking for. It sounds stupid but it works! If you have any more questions, feel free to let me know and I will do my best to answer. Happy gaming 🙂
