My sims game will load in but won't let me play as my sims

My sims game loads in and I can press load game or continue, I try to continue my sims game and it just stays on the loading screen the whole time. I do use mods and cc for my game but idk if it's because of that because my game will still load. If I press load game it loads and goes into the world, from there I can edit my family but when I try and play as them it just stays on the loading screen the whole time, I've waited up to 10 minutes and it still stayed on my loading screen. Please someone help because I'd really like to play my game. Thank you.

@puzzlezaddictI hade trouble being able to find a old save, but I did try removing the sims and with all 3 of them removed rotating them and the game never loaded, I went into build buy it loaded and I left and it still loaded and I moved the whole household to a base game lot and still didnt work, so I think it could possibly be all 3 of the sims

update: I tried moving sims ik aren't broken into the house and the game never loaded so I believe its the house and possibly my sims

@cleer777  Can you load the house in live mode with different sims living there?  If so, the house is fine; if not, it's not, and you need to test it as I described, or delete it outright.

For the sims, are you loading one of them at a time on a different lot?  If you haven't tried this, please do so now.

I provided a link for loading a backup save before, but here it is again:

@puzzlezaddictohhhh no I never tried loading them at a different lot, id move the sims out to a new household then try to load in in the same house, and when I tried moving a different household into the lot it didnt work and the game didnt let me load in even with a new family.

update: I tried loading in my other family in the same save and now that family won't load

@cleer777  Are you seeing any lastexceptions when you try to load your households?  They'd be in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.  The best practice is to delete any you currently have and try to load the household again, then look for a new one.  If you do find one, please copy and paste its text into a post here.  It'll be very long, so please use a spoiler.

Additionally, were you ever using any custom content playmats?

@puzzlezaddict I dont use any custom content playmats but what I decided to just do was delete the family and read them before it ever started bugging, I deleted the old lot and added a new house and everything working now, I still have my old save where it was bugged but I've created a new save with all the same sims I just replaced the ones that were bugging

@puzzlezaddict  I know this is old but I'm having the same issue now and I had a cc playmat in the house - what were you going to say about that that could be causing it? (The issue is the same even without cc or mods)

@marieod_x  The issue from 14 months ago is probably not the same issue as you're seeing now given how much the game has changed.  But either way, it would be best to ask in the Mods forum:

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Mods-CC-Issues/bd-p/the-sims-4-game-issues-mods-en

Describe your issue and list the cc playmat(s) you use, and someone will be able to give more specific help.

Since this thread is a bit old and probably no longer relevant, I'll lock it here.
