My Sims Stop Responding to My Commands - sims 4 game is essentially broken.
Hi all! I’ll get right to the chase - my Sims 4 game has been broken since about November/December last year. It’s not completely unplayable, but it only allows me to live in certain worlds or else my sims stop responding to my commands in a few minutes after moving to a new world, e.g The City. It’s super irritating, i’ve been basically forced to live in Windenburg or else my sims will just not listen to any commands and stand still like a dead fish until I go into manage worlds and move them back to a lot in Windenburg. I thought for a while that the only world I couldn’t live in was in The City, but alas I started a new household the other day in Willow Creek, and during the welcome wagon they all did the same thing. It’s not just my sims either, it’s literally the whole world that stops and does this. I know it must be a result of corrupt and bad cc as I played the game without any mods and cc and it worked perfectly, I could live in The City perfectly fine. I thought i had fixed it today, because I remade the Sims 4 file and deleted about 1000 cc, however, when i reloaded the game today it still did the exact same thing! I downloaded a mod conflicter application, but it took so long to scan everything and kind of stopped scanning them after a while that I gave up. I deleted about a quarter of my cc and my game is still messed up ☹️. I got rid of all the cc furniture I had, all things from about 2018 to when I first started downloading cc and yet this problem is still happening. I have about 4k worth of cc and I really want to know if anyone can help me? I feel like the only way I can get rid of this bug is if I delete all my cc and start fresh, but this is stuff that’s taken me YEARS to collect, and some stuff that i really love in my mods folder might not be downloadable again. I really hate only being able to live in Windenburg, which is starting to actually act up and do the same thing as well. The only mods that I have is MCCC, More Columns In CAS, Height Mod, CAS Background, Cas blob/shadow remover, more presets, and more traits. Could anyone tell me a site to search up what cc/mods are broken since the update from november/december last year? I’m at my wits end and contemplating just deleting everything but my mods and cc I downloaded recently, because I just discovered some amazing cas cc that make my sims look beautiful and I refuse to part with it lol.

After each update, most scripts mods and a large part CC will be spoiled and will spoil the game. Checking what broke down this time after the patch, and replacing these broken ones by a new updated version or deleting these is the price the player pays for using CC and mods. So simply you have many outdated mods or CC causing it. So you have a difficult choice ahead of you -to keep all your broken CCs or play.
1. Move the mods folder to the desktop.
2. Find and delete localthumbcache.package file in the game folder. Delete also all folders with the word "cache" in the name.
3. Fix the game in Origin.
Origin/Library - right-click on TS4 - option "Repair game"
You have to wait until Origin will fix all packs, not only the base game.
4. Turn on the game to create a new, empty mods folder and check if the game is working now properly without mods
5. Check if there are new updated versions of the mods and CC you are using.
Then copy from desktop your mods and CC and paste it in the new mods folder. First, paste script mods one by one every time checking if the game is OK.
Do the same with CC but you have a lot of this, so try the 100/100 method. (Divide your CC into smaller batches for example 100 pieces in one subfolder and check these subfolders one by one)
