my sims suddently stopped working

a few days ago my sims suddently wouldnt open from the launcher, ive tried searching on the internet but i havent gotten any answers. when i click the launch button from the ea app, it closes out as ...

    @tanquilsio  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

    If that doesn't help, please post a new dxdiag.

sooooooo i kinda didnt do what u asked cus i was too lazy but guess what...... THE GAME FIXED ITSELF WITHOUT ME DOING ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN FINALLY PLAY THE GAME AGAIN YAYYYYYYAYAYYYY

ok when i downloaded the addons i have for the game it stopped working again, so im thinking theres a problem with one of the expansion packs ive got

    ok moving the old folder to the desktop and starting a new save worked, all of the expansion packs work too. playing the game works so far so i think that actually fixed it. there mightve been something corrupted in my old sims file so im glad you suggested to let the game make a new one. thank you so so much for all your help this far <3

    @tanquilsio  That's great to hear.  And you can try moving your saves or anything else you'd like to keep to the new user folder if you want.  When this happens, usually the corrupted file is not in saves or Tray but elsewhere.
