my sims4 audio
Starting from August 21st today my sims 4 audio has not been working correctly, my game loads but then starts to repeat the music over and over. it'll start by repeating the END sound twice but then ...
When I started The Sims 4 around 9:30pm, EA automatically installed some delivery package or patch. It ended my game and automatically restarted it. After that, my in-game stereo music skips ... a lot. It wasn't doing that at all before that update. What was it that got delivered last night? I turned off automatic updates since EA is inconsistent with them and we have no idea if they're QA'd properly. It's obvious they aren't.
Please don't have me doing a million things to my sound. I won't do it as this is the only game having an issue and wasn't happening yesterday. If all these businesses didn't get rid of tech support, we wouldn't be in here asking these questions that only tech support or engineers can answer. We pay more for less support? Great. Greed is ruining everything. ☹️
By the way, all the music skips throughout the entire game. While loading anything, the game music skips. I can't record anything like this. My music that I have in the game does it badly. EA do something!
@KingRayVeteran This problem is affecting a few people, but nowhere near everyone. I've merged your thread with a couple others on the same topic. It would be helpful if you could run a dxdiag and attach it to a post so we can compare the hardware of affected players.

Please also let me know what sound output device you're using while you play and what type of connection it has, for example built-in speakers or headphones connected via jack.
Sims Delivery Express is a separate type of download from the usual game patches. If you don't want to receive SDX updates, turn off the option in the game settings. To remove the already-installed content, go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and delete the Content folder.
OMG, I hate creating responses to have the site tell me I wasn't logged-in and erase everything I said. The internet is becoming a productivity nightmare. Anyway, I said I didn't see this one when I did a search, @puzzlezaddict. The only one I saw was from a few years ago. This doesn't look like the same thing, but ummkay. I rebooted my computer and the skipping stopped. Dxdiag wouldn't do any good at this point, so I'll end my complaints about those things getting delivered straight into the game. Will leave automatic updates off so at least I can see what's being delivered. Thanks.
Oh, I have an old Bose speaker system connecting via USB. Very good speakers and the subwoofer is slammin. This was a game issue, not sound issue. Nothing else was skipping besides the game.
