I don't know what I did but the task bar popped out during my game and wont go away. I ended up reinstalling the game which only made my game worse. When I open up the game now it will show the loading screen but soon disappear. the only thing left open is the minimise, restore down, and the close button in the middle of of my screen. by the way i'm on a laptop if that changes anything
@jenna16203 Try disabling any overlays you have running while you play: Steam discord, that kind of thing. Disable Origin in-game as well. In Origin, hover over your username, select Application Settings, then Origin in-game, and turn off the setting.
If that doesn't help, please delete options.ini from Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4. The game will create a new options file the next time it launches. You'll have to redo your settings, but hopefully the game will at least open properly.
If that doesn't help either, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
