New laptop for college and sims 4

Hi, I’m looking for a new laptop to do both my college work and play the sims on as my current one sounds like it’s about to take off when I use it, I use custom content and mods when I play the sims so I’m unsure how that’ll affect what I need in a new laptop. I’ve had a look online and I’ve found three that look like they could be good and are a price that I can afford, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I just want to make sure that I get the right one.

And here’s a comparison of three

  • @ArcticPaws091  The second laptop, the Asus Vivobook, is the clear winner here because it has a dedicated graphics card.  The RTX 2050 is very entry-level, but it still beats the integrated graphics chips in the other two laptops by a considerable margin.  That's the difference between running Sims 4 at medium-high graphics settings and high-ultra.  Given that the Vivobook is no more expensive than the other options, that makes the decision easy if performance is the priority.

I can't tell you whether your mods and custom content will have any effect because I don't know what you use.  Some cc is only as demanding as base game items and won't have any real impact outside of increasing loading times; other cc is significantly more demanding and may make it necessary to turn down one or two graphics settings.  But that's true on any computer, and it's fine to experiment with the settings until you get something that works for you.

This laptop is the same price and has a faster graphics card and otherwise the same specs, except for a better screen:

But it's also somewhat heavier, so that might not be the best option.  I don't see anything as good as that for under £700 on the usual sites either, just more gaming laptops that would be equally heavy and not any better from a performance standpoint.

If you have more questions, please feel free to ask.
