Origin Crashes with new update

Hi,

Everytime I open my Origin client it automatically starts downloading the newest update for the sims 4. After a minute or two it suddenly stops downloading, freezes and then crashes. I've looked into some solutions online, and I already tried to uninstall and reinstall Origin and The Sims 4 but it continues to happen.

This is the error message I am getting everytime I try to open the program:

@Pixion88 Hey, I'm just going to give the base troubleshooting steps, as I've seen another case where the same error was reported in similar situation. The user reported that the steps helped but didn't specify which one exactly. Please check the spoilered section.

    Spoiler

Please try the steps in the order below:

    1. Manually uninstall Origin
    2. Run CCleaner
    3. Restart your router/modem and do a Clean Boot
    4. Make sure that your UAC is enabled and set to notify
    5. Download the latest version of Origin and install the client - make sure to run the setup file with Admin rights
    6. Add firewall/antivirus exceptions for Origin and open the needed ports
    7. When starting Origin, please make sure to run it as Administrator

However, in the case I mentioned previously, this issue seemed to reappear when the next update was due. If this happens, please let us know and we can take a further look into this.

    Thank you.

    Thank you for your help.

I tried to do everything listed in there but the problem continued.

Meanwhile I asked one of my friends for help, and she told me to look for the mods I had installed. She told me to removed them from the mods folder and try to update the game. I did it and it worked!

I hope this might help other players that are having the same problem as I did. It's as simple as removing/uninstalling all the mods we have in the game and it will run again.
