Origin Has Encountered A Serious Problem and Must Close

I bought the base game on Steam and had been playing with no issues until a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately my memory of how the problem arose isn't the greatest since I've been busy and putting off dealing with it. The last time that I played the game, after I closed it a window popped up which I also tried to close but missed the x and accidentally clicked on it, and I think it's caused my anti-virus to block The Sims 4. I can't remember what it said but I'm sure it was something about anti-virus. I went into avast and tried to undo it, and eventually just uninstalled avast completely. I've also reinstalled origin, and The Sims 4, and turned off my windows firewall but every time I try to launch the game, either through Steam or Origin it says 'Origin has encountered a serious problem and must close' and I don't know what to do next.

Please help!

@JayKay3390  Your dxdiag lists a number of issues related to the driver for your graphics card.  Since you have an older driver, you can just install the newest one from Nvidia:

    https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/167753/en-us

Choose the Custom install (instead of Express) and perform a clean install.  Restart your computer after installing the driver and before trying to play.  And when you do try to to play, disable your antivirus as well, at least long enough to test.

If you still can't launch the game, please look for related errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates, with a column for each day.  (Today is all the way on the right.)

For any errors that happen when you try to play from after you reinstall the graphics driver, please click "View technical details," copy the info, and paste it into a reply.  If you're not sure whether an error is related, check the timestamp in the technical details; that should be accurate enough.  The Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away, so if you don't see any new errors, check back in an hour or two.
