Origin needs to download files and is waiting for permission.

"Origin needs to download files and is waiting for permission. Please choose "Yes" when Windows prompts you for permission."I keep getting this error but there is no yes button to click. There is only a close button. I keep trying it but every single time it says it preparing than shows me this error and also this one "Oops… Windows blocked our attempt to download game content. If you'd like to allow Origin to download content to your computer, select "Retry" below. When prompted, grant permission within the User Account Control pop-up.". Can anyone help me? I tried to change my user account control settings already but it didnt work.

  • @SevSevSnape  This is a known issue with Origin right now.  But you can get around it by disabling Origin Client Service and Origin Web Helper Service.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "services.msc" without quotes.  Scroll through the list of services to find the two Origin ones.  For each, double-click, select "disabled" under Startup type, and click Apply.  Then try downloading again.

@jessiebennett85 I have all the packs and play daily and I cannot go online at 22.10pm either, in the UK. It was ok yesterday. It could be that they are doing maintenance on the Gallery as they are working on PC/Console Gallery integration to come soon. EA website is not down at the moment and that's only what I can come up with. Try tomorrow.

@BtobMelodyilhoon  Is Origin installed and working properly?  If so, then both services should be on the list.  However, the issue related to these services seems to have disappeared, or at least is uncommon by now.

Instead of disabling the services, try lowering your User Account Control settings, at least long enough to let Origin download whatever it is you want.  Here's a guide, along with an explanation of what the settings do:

Be sure to change the settings back when the download is complete, or if it fails again.  If this doesn't help, please describe your issue in more detail, and post a screenshot of any error you see.
