origin offline causing game to stutter/freeze

so i started playing the sims 4 yesterday while origin was in offline mode and the game started to stutter /freeze for a second every few seconds. i didn't know what was causing it at the time so i tried changing every setting in the game as well as disabling any mods. Nothing seemed to fix it until today when i decided to check to see if playing with origin in online mode would fix it and it did. any suggestion on how to fix this for offline mode?

  • Could you try to turn of Origin in Game ? Maybe that's trying to connect and can't hence causing lags.

Have you done a virus scan on your computer lately and is your Windows all updated ?

You're specs as such look good but you have some issue wish windows programs in your DxDiag.

  • I updated my drivers and I have an antivirus installed that checks daily on too whatever else it does. Is it a specific program/s? After going through and updating everything I'm still having the same issue

    It's these in specific: OC_GURU.exe and  GameBarPresenceWriter.exe

One seems to have to do with XBox connections (are you also use your account for XBox ?) and the other seems to be a file that shouldn't be giving troubles unless a virus is disguising as it (hence my inquiry)

I would do a complete scan to make sure it's nothing bad.

Also have you tried a clean boot to see if that helps ?

  • i went through and fixed everything in that dxdiag. it was not a virus just an old application that i do not use anymore so i deleted it. i went back and tested the game and it still happens i started in offline mode and it would stutter and then i switched origin to online while the game was running and it smoothed out. I still have everything that make origin attempt to reconnect disabled so i have no idea what it is at this point.
