Origin won't update the sims 4 to Patch 1.0.732.20

@nicovinh82 Can you try restarting your machine with a Clean Boot, then starting Origin as an administrator, then see if it can make any more progress?

I'm having the same issue. I can't update to the newest Patch, which includes the addition of ghosts into Sims 4. Origin will pop up with this message:

"An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again in a few moments. Error: 196632:0."

I've already gone through the process of addingg ports and switching my proxy off of lan settings just to get the game installed and I've also made exceptions for Origin in regards to my firewall settings. Now it won't update. How do I start Origin as an administrator?

I fixed it as I had the same issue all I did was right click the game and clicked on verify the game and left it till it was done and it then asked me a security question basically Win 7 notifing me that something wants to install something and the game downloaded the patch and it installed and now it works.

I don't have a verify the game option when I right-click. I have Update and Repair Game and I've tried both of those, but neither worked for me.

 @EA_David Nevermind, I figured out how to run a game as an Administrator and that didn't work either. Origin is still giving me the same error.

@hohlagh If you restart your machine in Safe Mode with Networking, you can test to see if the game updates in a clean environment. The game won't run like this(various vital drivers won't load), but if the game updates correctly it should work upon a normal mode restart.

Can you try and clear the origin cache :
1.Ensure Origin is fully closed by clicking the Origin Menu and selecting Exit.
2.Delete the following folders:
•Origin folder - Found in C:\ProgramData\ --> Everything except for the following sub directory: DO NOT DELETE: C:\ProgramData\Origin\LocalContent
•Origin folder - Found in C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\
•Origin folder - Found in C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\

•Note: These folders are hidden by default, and the player will need to un-hide to be able to locate them.

to unhide folders:

-type folder options in the search field in the start menu

-click on the view tab

-under the hidden folders options click show hidden files, folders, and drives- apply the setting and click ok

I found this solution to be a great fix.

After trying just about everything else - uninstalling "Origin", "CCleaner", UAV settings, "REGEDIT" & Administrator - who would have thought

to check hidden files (caches).

I also have this problem, just bought the game for about a week ago but I can't play it because of the update! ☹️ I was told to;

1. Open Task Manager (right click on the bar at the bottom)
2. Open the 'Processes' tab (may vary depending on your OS)
3. Check if you have a proces ts4 running and if so, end it
4. The update should now download without crashing every time you go to retry.

But I'm still confused because I don't know If or where I can find these on Origin (if the even in the first place actually are in Origin), plus that I got the Swedish version of Origin. Also, I'm no good with computers so I'm afraid that if I mess with some folders etc, I might completely break the PC. So I really need help with this!
