Origin wouldn't let me download the Sims onto my hard drive.
I have an external hard drive and can download whatever I want besides the Sims 4 on Origin. Every time I try to, a message comes up saying "Cannot save in root folder. Origin cannot save games in a root directory."

When you're attempting to save the game to your external hard drive, normally games can't be saved directly to a root directory. (For example, you can't install the game to the C:\ drive directly, it has to go to a directory like C:\Program Files\Origin Games\The Sims 4 ). When installing the game, change the installation location to a subfolder location on the external drive. (For example, use this format: DriveName\Program Files x86\Origin Games\The Sims 4)
Note: It's normally not a good idea to install Origin games separately to external drives, as if you install the game and then subsequently save other Origin games to separate drives, this can cause performance issues in Origin when attempting to perform updates and rebuild your Game Library. (It should not affect your local saves, as those are always saved on the C:\ drive.)
