Please try the following steps: Repair the game in Origin: open your game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Repair. Disable Origin in-game: hover over your username, select Application Settings, then the Origin in-game header, and disable the option at the top. Uninstall Reshade. Disable any other overlays you have running: Discord, Steam, etc. Play in a clean boot. If this helps, you can use the 50/50 method to selectively reenable services until you find the one causing this issue. Try a different mouse.

So hey yeah, it seems to be the Discord app that's effecting the mouse. That's the only one I turn off and it goes back to normal and I leave all my other apps/overlays on! So it might be something to do with Discord...

I saw someone say that they disabled their discord overlay and that fixed it, but I've had the discord overlay since before the update and it has always been fine. I just want to know how to fix this again because it makes CAS unusable, and it's my favorite part of the game.

I turned off my mods completely and my mouse is still either the windows default mouse or a constant spinning wheel. The sensitivity is also extremely high in CAS and when I use the tab camera mode in game. I’ve repaired my game and all expansions, game, and stuff packs, turned off all my CC, and updated my PC drivers. I haven’t seen any posts regarding this issue so I assumed it was a bad piece of CC, but it’s not the case.

@hannahhhjade Please do try disabling the Discord overlay, in case it helps. The update may have changed the way the game and overlays interact. If that doesn't make a difference, disable any other overlays you have.

If that doesn't help either, please try playing in a clean boot, with nothing else open on your computer except for Origin.

@pictureamoebae Hello, um, turned it off (its happened to me before and worked, never had it on afterwards) and now its happening again and it didnt work to turn it off because it always was off.

@CooolPinkFrog Please try disabling any overlays you have, not only Origin in-game but Discord, Steam, anything like that.

If that doesn't help, try playing in a clean boot:

I'm having this exact same problem and I turned off in game overlay and that worked but after after this most recent update the problems back

@shiro_1202 Another player mentioned recently that they needed to disable the Origin in-game overlay both overall and specifically for Sims 4. So please try that: open your Origin game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, select Game Properties, and uncheck the box next to Origin in-game. If that's the setting that's already disabled, hover over your username, select Application Settings, then the Origin in-game header, and disable the option at the top.

If this doesn't help, disable any other overlays you have running: Steam, Discord, etc.

@sis21721 Try disabling Origin in-game specifically for Sims 4 as well: open your game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, select Game Properties, and uncheck the box for Origin in-game.
