Painter Career Option Gone

I don't know why but since the latest update the part where you pick a career for you sim no longer shows the "Painter" career option. I do not have any mods installed, and I have repaired the game...

    I did and something weird happened.

    I had created a Sim and saved him to my library.

    I already had this Sim as a painter in one game but when I started a new game I did not realize that the career he was in would be applied to the new game. :S

    Which is why I thought the option was gone. Didn't occur to me to actually look to see if he had a job because well....he wasn't suppose to in the new game.

    However, other 2 sims I had(done the same thing with them but they had different careers) had the opposite affect. When I put them in the new game too they didn't have careers.

    I did check with other Sims in the same game and the career choice does show; so I guess I can't complain? It was just an honest error on my part that I didn't realize.

    Sorry for the silly mistake, but I honestly didn't know.

could you start a new game for testing purposes to see if it's also missing there ?

I will check my game later to verify.

    Glad you got it solved.

    They changed the way how you add new Sims to an existing game (you now do it through the map screen rather than the main screen) and that has caused a lot of confusion.

    So, you're not alone :D

      Thanks for letting me know!

      I did find out something too.

      The first sim that I mentioned that was in the painter career in one game and it transferred his job to the new game I had saved him in my library "after" getting a job. I did create him.

      The other two I had created I saved them to my gallery first before they got a job.

      So I'm not sure if that is another factor or not but either way I'm glad I'm not alone. 🙂
