You, or better yet, your daughter has some graphics card drivers that are crashing.
So if updating didn't work, try a reinstall of them, here you can read how to do that:

Hi,
After a very stressful attempt I have carried out the re-install, but Sims 4 still doesn't work.
I read elsewhere about turning off vsync and I have done that as well.
Do you have any other ideas ?
Thanks

@princess_snowph first the AMD A10-5700 APU has the graphics chip AMD Radeon HD 7660D integrated on the cpu chip. There is no "real" dedicated video memory. Video memory is borrowed from main memory. The Intel I series with integrated Intel HD Graphics has similar issues with the sims games. AMD has classified the Radeon HD 7660D as legacy. I believe your monitor is connected by a 15 pin VGA cable. The performance of VGA could be a bottle neck. VGA went the way of the floppy disc. Windows 8.1 was so bad Microsoft had to give it away under the license of Windows 8.1 with Bing. Windows 8 like Vista was poorly received and was poorly supported. Zoostorm does not provide much information about your computer so it is hard to provide recommendations. While the A10 APU should provide ample power the graphics is weak. If your computer is a desktop there may be a PCIe slot for a graphics card. I think Zoostorm may use off the shelf motherboards but no one is listing what they use. If you have a desktop the only way to know is to open the case and look.
