Penthouse invasion?
I'm not exactly sure if that's a bug or a feature at this point, but I certainly would love to find a way for it to not do it.
I've made a penthouse at San Mishuyo where Stargazer Lounge used to be, now the problem is that random sims will walk right in, and mixologists will come, it even announced a talent show in it. It confuses me even harder because I made it residential(otherwise my sims would not be living there).
I would love to get some insight if that is indeed designed to be that way.
@Half-rose I tested this: made a household and changed the Stargazer Lounge into a residential lot, moved my sim in and played for a week. The neighbours come often, especially if they are friends, but they did so in an originally residential lot as well; and no other sims visited, and no talent shows were announced. I also bulldozed the particular lot and placed the lot Uptown Glass from Gallery/CL there and did the same routine. No talent shows or random sims visiting.
Maybe the change of lot assignment did not take in your game.First, exit the game and delete the localthumbcache.package in The Sims 4 folder, in Documents>Electronic Arts. Do this every time you troubleshoot. It will recreate every time you play.
You could then try to redo the lot assignment, by saving your household and lot; evict the the household; then bulldoze the lot; making sure it has the assignment residential; place the lot out again making sure the lot itself is residential, and place your household back in it. You could also toggle other lot assignments on the specific place; exiting build mode in between, saving, exiting the game, deleting the cache. Let me know if you need more info on how to do this and I will write a more detailed description.
It would also help if you described more detailed how you went about changing the lot from lounge to residential.
But I also read a couple of bug reports on talent shows on residential lots, which were fixed for other residential lots than the active home; but the same problem with the specific lot Stargazer Lounge is reported on officials, with no solution, here:
