Photo mode froze sims 4 game and can’t click on anything or exit the game

I was taking pictures of my toddlers with pose packs and as I’m on my last photo, the photo count at the bottom of the camera mode went to 0 and stayed there. I tried clicking the x in the top right corner but nothing happened. I also tried esc. Then I pressed the x at the top of the window to close it all together and the “Save Game” box showed up with the three options. I tried clicking save and exit but nothing happened. The buttons move when I scroll the cursor over them, but no action occurs. I really don’t wanna lose the progress in my game because the pictures took so long to take. Someone please help.
