Black Sims usually occur if you remove a custom skin from your game or if a skin is no longer compatible.
Can you take them to CAS and change them there ? Even if they look fine there, try giving them a random skin color and change back to the one you want.
I never had custom skins installed but I went into CAS and selected different skin tones and they problem remains.
Yup! Same with pets too
