Maybe the problem is in my antivirus? However I'm not sure where I could find my antivirus software. I've already uninstalled McAfee, but the problem still exists.
I don't have any quick troubleshooting tips, but have found a link to some troubleshooting tips that might help.

- 8 years agoI tried those options but none of them seem to fix the issue unfortunately.
I believe it’s antivirus related and something is preventing me from connecting to the ea server. If there are any ways to figure a fix on this, please let me know.- 8 years ago
Have you tried doing a web search on how to stop antivirus from blocking a program?
The link I shared before mentioned if the troubleshooting tips don't help, you may need to contact EA's customer support for more help.
How To: Contact EA's Customer Service:
1. Click on the following link: https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/ (once there make sure that your country is correctly selected in top left hand corner of Help.EA.com)
2. Find the affected game - in this case select either Origin or Sims 4
3. Select your platform
4. Select topic and issue.
5. Select a contact option. Please note that available contact options do depend on your country settings, time of day and the topic/issue you choose.
