Problems finalizing Sims4.
Hi! I've downloaded Sims 4 but when it's finalizing, it comes up with this error: 'The VC++ runtime redistributable package was not installed successfully. setup cannt continue. (1638).' What do I do...
@GS9382 Sims 4 uses VC++ runtimes from 2010 and 2013, both x64 and x86. Sometimes these files get corrupted, and other times they're not digitally signed by Microsoft (i.e. if you originally got them from another source) and Origin or TS4 won't use them. You can manually uninstall these through Settings > Apps—be sure not to delete newer ones—and download new ones from Microsoft.

(You don't need to install the _arm version, which is for a different class of device.)
I downloaded, repaired and uninstalled the un-needed packages but it still doesn't work?
@GS9382 Are you the main user of this computer? VC++ runtime may need admin rights to install. Most users have admin rights but if the computer is your parents computer you login may not install VC++ runtime correctly.
I am the admin/main user of my computer.
@GS9382 Please run Origin as an admin: right-click on the Origin icon on your desktop and select "Run as administrator."
If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach the results to a post here.
