proposal option disapears

Sorry if this is already answered but I couldn't find it. So i'm trying to get my sims engaged but when I select the propose option it disappears from the taskbar. I have tried restarting my game. I ...

After you broke them up did the option to Propose return?

    yes but when I selected it, the icon would appear in the task bar and then disappear from the task bar with out the sim completing it

      This sounds to be Mod related. Please try to move the Mods folder to somewhere else like your desktop start the game and see if you are now able to propose.

      If so you can start moving Mods/CC back a little at a time and test the game until you have found what caused it.
