Re: accidentally deleted sims 4 folder
So i was trying to remove all my mods because when I played the sims today a pop up came up that were saying thet I should relaunch the game. Then when I got in microsoft edge there was a tab where it stod things about mc command center and how i should update it or remove it for the sims to work or something like that. So i figured out that i could remove all my mod instead because I thaught it would be easier that way. So I removed Curseforge wereI download most of my mods and the deleted all my files that seemed to be a mod or something like that in my explorer. Then I restarted my computer and went in on the sims 4 and all of my saves were gone. Is there something I can do to get the saves back. I have spent so much time on my builds and sims that it would be very bad if all of it is gone.......
@puzzlezaddict wrote:@chelisee1 For some reason, you've installed the game's program files into Documents\Electronic Arts. This will be a serious issue because the game tries to create its user data folder there, and the two folders need to be separate. Please delete everything in your screenshot, then clear Origin's cache and restart your computer.

Please also stop OneDrive from automatically syncing the content of Documents. (You may need to do this before you delete the folders in your screenshot.) You can leave OneDrive enabled and upload files manually, but the auto sync can mess with the Sims 4 user data folder, and it's simpler to prevent it from happening than fix problems that you see later.
Open Origin, hover over your username, select Application Settings, then the Installs & Saves header, and make sure Origin is set to install to Program Files (x86)\Origin Games. Then download Sims 4, and again make sure it's downloading to the Origin Games folder.
Once the game is installed, you can launch it to create a new user data folder in Documents\Electronic Arts.
