Based on what you stated, I have continued looking at different laptops and even considered computer options. I bought a laptop not too long ago that was incompatible with the Sims 4 gameplay, so I wanted to ensure that I did not make that mistake again. Here are the options I have found and wondered if these may be better as well:

@johnnyboy2098  The first laptop's hardware is even slower than most of the ones you linked in your first post: it's more or less the 2019 version of the first and fourth laptops' processors, AMD edition.  You could do a lot better even for the same price.

The third computer has a processor that's essentially the same, just a year older and slightly less powerful, than the CPU in the first and fourth options you linked.  It's more expensive because it's an all-in-one, complete with a decent screen.  But it's not a proper desktop: it has laptop hardware and is similarly not very upgradable.

The second option doesn't list its exact model of processor (a red flag all by itself), but given the other details, I would guess the processor, and therefore the computer overall is about ten years old.  Someone stuck a six-year-old graphics card in it, one that could probably handle Sims 4 on ultra graphics settings, although it would be a close call even if the GPU is in perfect condition.  It also has a slow mechanical drive rather than an SSD.

There's nothing wrong in theory with keeping products like this out of landfills for a little while longer, but don't be fooled into thinking this is a proper gaming computer or even a reasonably fast everyday machine.  It's not, and it's also old enough that it might not last very long either.

I still think the Victus you found or the two laptops Iinkd are clearly the best options of this group.  If you'd like me to look for good desktops, I can, but I'm not likely to find anything that's enough under $600 to also allow for a decent monitor.  Still, let me know if you'd like suggestions.

@celenerury  That's an impossible question to answer because when price is no object, subjective factors come into play.  For example, one person might really want a smaller and/or lighter laptop, and the Asus ROG Strix 14" laptops are amazing.  But another person might feel that a 14" screen is entirely too small.

If I were buying a laptop only for Sims 4 and had an unlimited budget, I wouldn't necessarily try to get a faster graphics card than an RTX 3060, since it would be wasted on the game.  I'd find the models with good-enough hardware and the best screens, which for me would mean a higher resolution, something around 2560x1440.  (I've seen several resolutions in this range that are close enough but not identical.)  From there, I'd narrow it down by how good the cooling is because that matters a lot to me—I don't want to have to use a cooling pad or fan, and I worry about overheating probably more than is necessary.

As you can see, my approach is somewhat subjective; it's not necessarily the right one for you.  So the best approach is to figure out what matters to you, maybe even go to a store and have a look at the models on display, and then start narrowing down the selection from there.

@celenerury  I can't tell you that.  As I said, the right answer for me is very subjective and probably not the right answer for you.  Further, I'm not shopping for a laptop at the moment, so I haven't done any research for myself and don't know what I'd buy today.

If you want the most honest answer I have, my everyday laptop is a Mac that I love very much, and I play games almost exclusively on a desktop PC.  So I don't use a Windows laptop at all and don't plan to anytime soon.
