Re: Can I uninstall game packs? (Sims 4)

All your expansions, game packs and stuff packs go under one picture in Origin. Follow these steps:
- Go to the 'my games' tab in Origin.
- Hover over your 'The Sims 4'.
You'll see a little screen come up with an 'i' and a 'play/download/install' button.
- Click on the 'i', you'll be taken to a different screen.
- Scroll a bit down and there you'll see all your expansions, game packs and stuff packs.
Right click the expansion you want to uninstall and choose uninstall.

You might want to look in to an external drive for The Sims 4.

Origin had a make over. All your expansions, game packs and stuff packs go under one picture in Origin. Follow these steps:
    - Go to 'Game Library' in Origin
    - Right click 'The Sims 4' and choose 'Game Details
    A overlay moves in
    - Have a look under the 'Extra Content' tab
There should all your Game Pack, Stuff packs and expansions packs show up.

You can't uninstall any game packs without uninstalling the full game though.

@parmida86  right click the game icon - click show game details - scroll down and click extra content. Your packs will now be displayed. As unlike Sims 3 packs are installed right from the Origin client and the only way I know to uninstall a Sims 4 pack is to uninstall the base game and when you reinstall the base game and then pick the packs you want.

If I do uninstall it will I be able to redownload it again for free? If not, would I be able to get a refund on it since ive been using a pack and ever since I got it, when I would click on a sim to interact with them, it would take so long for it to come up, whereas before I had it, it would pop up straight away! But I got the pack a few months ago so I've got a feeling I won't be able to refund đŸ˜Ģ Xx

If you would like to uninstall an individual pack please follow the method below. Bear in mind that this is NOT a supported method and I have not tried this myself. It is based on removing the folders referenced in the PC method:

    1. Right click on the Sims 4 in your Applications folder and select Show Package Contents
    2. Open the Contents folder in the Finder window that pops up.
    3. Move out the folder for the pack you want to uninstall. For example, if you want to uninstall the Vampire Game Pack you would remove the folder called GP04.
    4. Open the Delta folder and remove the same GP04 folder

Make sure you have automatic updates in Origin turned off before you do this otherwise the pack will reinstall next time you open Origin.

For a list of packs and their folder names see this article.

If I do this, will it delete all my progress in my game?

    @graciebee12

Un-/reinstalling the game does not impact your game progress if you do it normally. If you want to, it's always recommended by making backups of your files before making changes to your computer and such.

    C:\Users\Username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\

Copy the folder called saves and paste it somewhere else. An external drive is the safest, but somewhere on the computer is better than nothing 🙂
If you want to save the things (households/lots) in your library, you should also make a backup of your Tray-folder.

Yea i tried that and still got the memory message but im gone try it again i think the code was different than that post I can't remember

  • I know this is an old comment you posted but maybe this might help someone else I had the same problem and didn't have the money to update my PC,I uninstalled the Whole game also but the problem is Origin tricks you or its EA Sports whoever it is or I couldn't figure out how to stop it when I went back to reinstall the Sims 4 back it was automatically installing back all the other packages that I had bought even though I was stopping them !!! And you have to have Internet to Play the Sims 4 because of the updates so I couldn't just turn off the internet so they wouldn't download ?? So they trick you I couldn't see around the problem its bullcrap that what I LOVED so much about the Sims 2 once again some things they have went backwards so BADLY on !!!
